These stretch marks are caused by rapid stretching of the skin. You just loss five kilos or gave birth to your precious child and now you have these stretch marks on your skin! What are they? Well, stretch marks are long breakage lines in the middle layer of the skin which may be colorless or start as red or purple and gradually turn white in color. These marks are caused by rapid stretching of the skin. It is quite a common problem among mainly in women but men can get them as well. Depending on the skin type, some people develop stretch marks more easily than others.

Most common reasons why these marks appear are sudden weight loss/gain, post pregnancy, also growth rush during puberty. Usually abdomen, buttocks, thighs and breasts are affected.

Are there any side effects?
After treatment, you will experience redness and burning sensation similar to regular sunburn. Normally, it subsides in two days. We will apply special antiseptic cream to stimulate the healing process. In order to not irritate your skin, we advise you to avoid taking part in any physical activities or exposing yourself to the sun for at least two days.

Your skin tone will become darker in areas treated, however, it will get back to normal in a few weeks time. The reason behind this is due to laser eliminates old, damaged skin cells thus letting new, healthy ones to replace them.

What kind of result can I expect?
The truth is that it may not be possible to completely remove the stretch marks. Nevertheless, their appearance can be tremendously improved, certainly to the point where it brings back self-confidence to patients who were fearful to wear swimsuit or bikini before. These stretch marks will be unnoticeable to the general eye, only with very close and thorough inspection, marks will be apparent.
