How does it work?
The light of the laser passes through the skin and hair follicles where the growth of the hair originates. This laser light is attracted to the dark pigment in the hair called melanin. Intense light and thermal energy severely damages the base of the hair follicles and that hinders hair growth.

Our skincare experts are very knowledgeable in optimizing specific treatment options for you. Normally, laser treatment works better for people with light skin and dark hair. However, for individuals with blonde or white hair, more treatment sessions might be needed due to the lack of hair pigment. For darker skin, special laser settings will be set in order to protect the skin surface.

Is hair removal permanent?
Laser hair removal is usually promoted as a permanent solution. We at SIAN Clinic do not endorse this perception, because it is incorrect and misleading. In general, there is no technology that has been able to completely and permanently remove hair so far.

Laser and IPL hair removal can have long lasting results in hair reduction and decrease in hair thickness, density and growth speed. Nevertheless, it will be necessary to have top-up sessions from time to time in order to maintain excellent results. We do use our experience in identifying what settings are best suitable for the most effective result for your hair and skintype.

How many treatments will I need?
The amount of sessions depends on various factors such as the color and texture of the hair, treated area, hormonal changes, etc. On average, 3 and more visits with 2 to 6 weeks apart are advisable. Results can last for several weeks to several months.

With each treatment, 10-25% in hair growth reduction can be achieved.

Your hairs are usually in different growth cycle and that is why you need multiple treatments. In order to achieve optimal results, your hair should be in specific cycle of growth. In the period when hair is connected to the base of the follicle, laser removal is the most effective. Direct pathway makes laser energy effectively disperse at the base of the follicle thus removing it.

Are there any side effects?
When it comes to hair removal, side effects are very mild and insignificant. Normally, redness and swelling in hair follicle will occur, which will subside within maximum 48 hours. On very rare occasions, blisters may develop.
