Skin Rejuvenation Treatments: Six Best Procedures for Skin Resurfacing

An Overview of Painless Skin Rejuvenation Treatments for Healthier and Younger Looking Skin

At Sian Skincare Clinic, we offer a number of different skin rejuvenation treatments that can make a marked improvement in not only the look but also the quality of your skin. Each of these treatments has their own advantages and disadvantages, and various treatments are optimized for different skin types.

As the largest organ in the body, our skin is particularly susceptible to the effects of aging, our lifestyle and the environment in which we live. Over time and given certain conditions, the skin can become dry, saggy and wrinkled, resulting in a tired and elderly-looking appearance.

If your skin has begun to show the effects of your age, overexposure to sunlight, acne scarring or any similar condition, you may have noticed blotches, lines, a dull skin tone or numerous other blemishes on your skin’s surface. If so, this is the right time to consider treatments to achieve skin rejuvenation and resurfacing, ushering in a new, younger and healthier-looking you.

Skin Rejuvenation Treatment

If you’re looking for a treatment to visibly improve the look and feel of your skin, it can be very difficult to know exactly which method is most suitable for your skin rejuvenation needs. Here, we present six different therapies offered at our clinic that may well be the right choice for you.

#1 Combo Fractional RF + Stem Cell (example brand: Pepbu:W)

Fractional RF therapy is a skin rejuvenation method that stimulates your skin’s deeper layers using fractional radio frequencies to generate heat and prompt collagen production. It is administered along with dermal stamping (an organic treatment used to rebuild collagen and elastin) to reduce discolouration and improve the look of scars and large pores. This treatment is ideally applied three times per year. Used in combination with a Pepbu:W stem cell serum to enhance skin regeneration, this treatment results in a firmer, plumper skin tone that enhances the skin’s capacity for self-repair.

On the plus side, this is a comfortable treatment with minimal downtime, making for a rapid recovery and healing period with lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring. It can however result in side effects such as swelling, redness, and a tingling sensation, depending on the treatment. The amount of absorbed energy is influenced by skin colour, making it more efficacious for paler skin types.

#2 PRP (Platelet-rich plasma)

This This is the original therapy that uses your own blood as a serum, known to be done by celebrities years ago as the “Vampire facelift” and is one that has many medical applications beyond skincare. It has been shown to be particularly effective in reversing the effects of aging on the skin, resulting in a softer skin with an improved skin tone. This is because blood platelets are naturally used by the body to heal deteriorated tissue, suggesting that a concentrated PRP solution can be used to regenerate areas of skin using the body’s own restorative forces.

PRP works with the body’s natural healing, and carries a very low risk of the body rejecting or negatively reacting to it. It is effective in both skin rejuvenation and hair loss, and there is no required downtime. It isn’t effective everywhere, however, and some patients do report experiencing some pain at the infusion site.

#3 Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin (IPRF)

This skin rejuvenation treatment also uses a solution based on a patient’s own blood plasma to re-energise and revitalise the skin’s regenerative processes. As above, we have platelet rich plasma (PRP) as the original blood extraction treatment, advances in these technologies has created iPRF, the newest version of platelet derived blood products that might be best for you. As with PRP the serum is made using cells from your own body, there is very little chance that it will cause an adverse reaction or other complication and it is suitable for everyone. The treatment is enriched and enhanced with the inclusion of blood platelets that contain healing proteins and growth factors, as well as fibrin for its healing properties and stem cells, which the body uses to conduct its own restorative processes.

Skin Rejuvenation Treatment

This treatment has proved especially effective in treating the skin around the eyes, but there is one important limitation, results can be variable in terms of how long the effects last depending on the number and quality of platelets found in the patient’s blood.

#4 Skin Rejuvenation Treatments: Helios Laser

Are you affected by dark spots or blemishes on the skin? Well Helios laser treatment has become a new standard in skincare for treating discolouration of the skin. The frequency of the laser beam is perfectly calibrated to destroy melanin protein - responsible for the pigmentation of skin - and can pinpoint the exact location of the pigment in skin blemishes, from freckles to age spots.

The treatment is notable in that there is no down time and hardly any side effects - and it's very safe to use without any discomfort. However it is important to note that proper skin care and avoidance of the sun are very important after the treatment, and the results typically are not long lasting, making this an effective short term solution.

#5 Rejuvenation Thread

Often known as "thread lift", this technique uses temporary sutures to produce a similar effect to traditional "face lifts", subtly pulling back the skin and tightening the face through a small number of minimally invasive stitches. The threading prompts the body’s healing response and deploys collagen to achieve skin rejuvenation in a tighter condition.

Skin Rejuvenation Treatment

This procedure involves minimal trauma for a short duration, making the rehabilitation period easily tolerable - and there is a very low risk of adverse reactions. It is important to understand, however, that this treatment rejuvenates the skin by boosting natural collagen production and reducing skin stress, slowing down the aging process, rather than "lifting" the skin as such.

#6 Skin Rejuvenation Treatments: Thermage

Thermage is a non-invasive radiofrequency (RF) therapy that can smoothen, tighten and introduce more contour to the skin, resulting in an overall younger look. How is works is it has a handle device that is applied to the skin to allow deep areas of the skin to absorb radiofrequency energy. This energy causes collagen stimulation and boosts skin tightening. Being non-invasive, thermage is safe and does not cause any downtime, working equally well on all skin types and colours. The results of thermage are particularly long lasting, with notable improvement lasting six to 12 months. It can, however, cause some swelling and redness in the treatment area as a side effect.
